Hey guys & girls,
Please see below one of the more recent videos I was interviewed in. Some amazing news at the end...definitely worth watching for.
Lots of love,
Ben
A reflection on my life and the challenges of being a gay young man in the modern day Pentecostal church and Australian society. After becoming a Christian, Ben then went through three years of ex-gay programs and reparative therapy enduring several suicide attempts, breakdowns and challenges. After admitting that nothing had really changed despite all the hard work, prayer, counselling and exorcisms. In 2008, Ben finally came out and found out that you could be gay and be a Christian.

Ben,
Thanks for sharing the video!
Although I am still a bit cynical about the change of direction for Hillsong - I just wonder if they've stopped it purely for PR reasoning. Well, that, or because they've discovered gays and lesbians have higher average disposable income...
;-)
Rgds,
Stu
Hey Stu,
Thanks for the comment mate. I suspect it's a bit of both. Hehe.
Although still unsure about the greater leadership of the church, Brian Houston is a good man and I have met with him several times to discuss this. Hillsong is moving forward bit by bit...

Wow, this is amazing. I'm 27 and gay. I teach in an Australian Christian school. Even though I'm an active Christian I'm worried that if I enter a relationship I'll lose my job. I'm already 'out' to many people but have been warned about my job security if I enter a gay relationship on any level. I'm glad Hillsong now accepts gay people. I'm still working to reconcile the bible and being gay so that I have genuine peace in my Spirit with God on entering a gay relationship. I'm not there yet.
Ben
Great site - thank you & God bless both you and Sam.
